Old circuits always have different place in our hearts but Silverstone is the oldest one, very first Grand Prix of F1 which held on 1950 and won by Guiseppe Farina with his Alfa Romeo.
United Kingdom has been gave lots of talented drivers to Formula 1 and F1 Grid has many British drivers now. So winning home would be honour for them, like other 11 British drivers ( Stirling Moss, Peter Collins, Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, John Watson, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert, David Coulthard and Lewis Hamilton ).
Also for almost every team has based on England so winning in home honour would count for them also ( Mclaren, Red Bull, Force India, Mercedes, Williams, Caterham, Marussia, Lotus ). Force India is the closest one to circuit, they can even push the car to pits from their centre.
Circuit is Aerodrome from World War2 days like other British Circuits. Circuit adopted by Royal Automobile Club in 1948 and served with it's basic shape in 1949.
Circuit is based in Brackley with 13.000 population. Visiting circuit would be like withnesing history, how cool is to be at the oldest F1 Circuit? Also as Samuel Jackson mentions London is just cool.
And here is few words from British Gentelman Button “I absolutely love my home race. Silverstone is a great challenge and some of the corners are the best in Formula One, particularly at the start of the lap. Away from the track, there isn’t much to do, but it doesn't matter because I love racing at home.”
Since the circuit has ben changed many times. Lately they have been added new pit buildings, pit walls little bit lower which Seems like unpleasant for fans at main grandstand. But i have not been there so maybe it's better than on Tv.
Red Bull is dominating circuit in latest years, and coming here with strong hand but it's F1 and you never know so let's see who's hand will be lucky one this weekend ?!
Home Sweet Home , get your rain jackets ready in any case, Keep Calm and Enjoy Silverstone :)
