Guy at the Next Door, Sebastian Vettel

The Youngest, consecutive fourth time Formula 1 World Champion, Sebastian Vettel.
Vettel had the experience of a F1 car in 2005 at a test. At that time Vettel  couldn’t even a drive a road car because of he is not at legally aged. He was that young in those days.
His Formula 1 entrance happened after a unpleasant moment. Kubica had a terrible accident at Canada GP 2007 and he was not able to race for the next GP at USA. BMW trusted their reserve driver.  A  german who came all the way from Heppenheim at the age of just 19.
Vettel:“Of course, I am looking forward to my first F1 race but I wish it had come under different circumstances. It’s never nice if a team mate can’t drive because he had an accident. “
That kid has something special and he showed that from the very first moments of his career. Vettel had became the youngest point scorer in F1 with 8th place at  his debut race.
But it was just a start, it was just glimpse of what Vettel will achive. After 5 and half seasons in F1 Vettel is shaked up the history. He is adding up new records and statistics under his name almost after every race. But still he insists that he loves the racing itself rather than records.
Vettel:” I enjoy - not the numbers - but the fact I'm racing.”
Vettel:” I love what I do. The feeling I get inside the car & the level of satisfaction, I haven’t found anything else that makes me as happy.”
Obviously F1 is a area that you need to be passionate about. Even though how much it looks ‘So cool and glamoruous’ from the outside view. It’s a job that demands your 7/24, travelling all around the world almost all year, being away from your home-your loved ones, dealing with all sponsors, lack of privacy etc.
He loves this sport, he loves it enough to know when you ask ‘Who is the F1 World Champion of 1969.’ He is passion is the thing that drives him. Passion for F1 and for the win. That’s make him so eager. That’s the reason why he is upset when he is second.
He is guy only cares about racing, being on circuit, making the perfect lap rather than fame, fortune and glamour. He does not change his daily life after all his success. He still spend time at his hometown, he still with the girl he fell in love many years ago. He is the boy at next door.
Gerhard Berger: "Sebastian doesn't care about luxury & parties. He's focused on his work & on driving. That's why he's so successful."
Top of all that he is a real hardworking. Right after wins he flight to MK and started to work on next races on simulation.  Seb and his team are the ones who left the Paddock last. He keeps on learning from every mistake, every lap. That’s might be the most dangerous asset of  the german. He does learn from his mistakes. He keeps getting better.
Dietrich Mateschitz: “Sebastian Vettel is a talent of the century. Apart from his driving skills talent, he works incredibly hard. “
Newey: “You see it with Sebastian all the time - you have that impression that each time he gets in the car, he gets in with a bit more knowledge than he got out of it last time.
F1 is a game of combination. Right place and right time and right people bring the success. In order to win; a great driver, great team and great car needed. Even though Vettel gets to much critisim by fans ‘He has the best car’ or ‘He wins all the time, he makes F1 boring’. But there is no such a thing in F1 as ‘winning with bad car’. Let’s face it F1 is not a only human sport, it’s the togethernes of man and machine. All the latest champions win with a great car, amazing team behind and of course all were talented. That’s nothing new. Only difference Seb haven’t stopped winning yet.
David Croft: “ The Red Bull isn’t always the best car. Sebastian Vettel just turns it into a winning machine, consistently and constantly.”
Webber: “The car is a big part of it, but it’s not everything. Vettel's attention to the small details is what sets him apart.
Vettel: "I am sure that when lewis won the WDC in 2008, he had also a strong team. Fernando also in 2005 and 2006. That's how the game works.”

Even though people generally focused on drivers, F1 is not a one man behind the wheel sport. Every member is important. Red Bull has a constiant crew for many years. You don’t see different faces every year. They win together, they lose together which is not very usual. They are the ones who word hard also party hard. While every pit in silence of working people, Red Bull Racing drop the beat. They love what they do. Vettel is part of this team. He even helped team packed so the team can go party earlier after he won the 4th World Championship instead of going his hotel earlier.
This tweet by Red Bull Systeam engineer Tom Batch tells all: "Vettel helped the team pack so they could get to the party earlier. I doubt any World Champion has ever helped pack away.” #truestory
I also don’t recall any F1 Champion who helped packing, do you?
He underastimated, called ‘egoist’ towards his relationship with his team mate, he even booed on the podium. But he never gave up, he put his headphones and focused his work. 26 years old german is maybe just at the start of his way. There are still many championships, records that may come. He will keep going step by step . For us, for spectators ‘We have the remember thess days’ the days that a legend born and we had chance to witness all !
